Qualifying Family Break Criteria

Barefoot and Free gift funded staycations for families that meet the following qualifying criteria.

  • Have a diagnosed neurodivergent child/or on the diagnosis pathway OR a child affected by childhood trauma; and

  • Haven’t had a holiday in the last 2 years; and

  • Care for a child or young adult under 25; and

  • Household income below £50,000; and

  • A UK resident

Qualifying Parent Carer Criteria

Barefoot and Free gift funded overnight stays for parent Carers that meet the following qualifying criteria.

  • Have a diagnosed neurodivergent child/or on the diagnosis pathway OR a child affected by childhood trauma; and

  • Haven’t had a child free night in the last 3 months; and

  • Care for a child or young adult under 25; and

  • A UK resident

ASC: Autism Spectrum Condition

ADHD: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

PDA: Pathological demand avoidance

PANDAS/PANS: Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcus

TOURETTE’S SYNDROME: Multiple movement tics and or vocal tics.

Childhood Trauma

The experience of an event by a child that is emotionally painful or distressful which has a lasting effect on their continued physical, emotional, social or intellectual development.
